Our terms and conditions when adopting a rabbit
When adopting a rabbit from us we do have a few conditions.
These are in place to ensure the health and safety of the animal and owners
these are my terms for re-homing
1: be available for a home check
2: minimum requirements for hutch are 4ft x2ft x 2 ft for medium/small breeds ( this is pet homes where the rabbit can have up to 8 hours exercise a day)
3:minimum of 6ft x 4ft run or free roam in a secure garden
4: Research is done before adopting ( there is loads of info on the internet, if unsure just ask me)
and this is what is involved in the adoption agreement
1:you agree not to breed the rabbit if the rabbit has not been neutered/spayed
2:you will stick to same genders if you decide to adopt another rabbit ( whether it be from us or another person) unless neutered/spayed
3: you agree if you need to re-home the rabbit you will inform us/ bring the rabbit back/ carry out a full home check if you already have a home lined up ( please contact me for home check list)
4: that you will comply with the 5 animal welfare needs for the rest of the animals life/ as long as you have the rabbit in your care
when adopting from us we require a name, address, telephone number, emergency contact/reference. this is the second part of the adoption. first part is home check.
I will always try and help if ever you need any advice about health, behavior, re-homing, diet and housing. I do not breed and do not agree with breeding. The above steps are to protect the rabbits, the following are to protect owners
All details gained will not be passed on or viewed by anyone other than myself, all information is private including the adopters need to re-home should circumstances change.
We do not re-home ill, injured, pregnant, aggressive rabbits. I hold rabbits here for a minimum of 2 months before putting them up for adoption so I know which rabbit to send to which family. If you have done your research you will know that some rabbits spray ( including females) that females are more likely to be stroppy when they want mating ( even if they are stroppy breeding them is still prohibited) and all rabbits can be nervous in the first 2 weeks of their new home ( please don't presume they are nervous all the time) sometimes we have rabbits that are still timid, these rabbits are only re-homed to people who have experience with complicated rabbits, but please don't be put off by a timid rabbit, given a little patients they will soon come out of there shell and will live happily like any friendly rabbit. If you choose to keep your rabbit indoors please ensure they are kept away from draft's and radiator's. if kept outdoors please ensure they are sheltered and have a cover over their hutch. if you would like any advice on how to set up a home for your new rabbit then please feel free to ask.
All our rabbits will be sent with a starter pack which consists of a bag of hay, shavings, food, food bowl, water bottle sample bag of treats and a care sheet ( these will be printed out soon)
I am are not a registered charity, i receive no funding and i receive no help with caring for the rabbits. the only form of income is adoption fee's so please don't assume i am making money off this because i am not. Its hard work, time consuming, some times heart breaking and in the end rewarding when they go to forever homes, and that is all i ask for, is a forever home so i can continue to help unwanted rabbits
if anyone has any questions or problems about the above then feel free to message me
thanks
